New Delhi: N Venkatramani, CMD of auto parts maker India Pistons passed away on Saturday evening following a brief illness.
Venkatramani, who was 80-year old, has been with the company since 1967. He was also the vice-chairman of the privately held Amalgamations group.
As per media reports, he is survived by his wife and two sons. His cremation is on Sunday.
“His strength was looking ahead for the auto components trade with the opening up of the economy in early 1990s and he was an expert in labour laws,” quoted the media report citing a close associate of Venkatramani.
Further, he was a fellow of The Institute of Mechanical Engineers having completed his masters from Imperial College, London, he was also chairman of George Oakes, IP Rings and on the board of Bimetal Bearings, Amalgamations VALEO, Stanadyne.
